Dr. Lucak, board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, has focused her practice in the last fifteen years on functional bowel disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, chronic abdominal pain, non-cardiac chest pain, chronic constipation, persistent nausea, vomiting, bloating, and diarrhea.
Her research efforts have centered on evaluating the clinical efficacy and safety of IBS treatments and on various clinical aspects of functional gastrointestinal disorders. She is collaborating with other experts in the US on a project entitled Patient Reported Observed Outcomes and Function (PROOF). This is designed to help improve the care provided to IBS patients by learning more about how people with IBS experience their symptoms. She is a Special Lecturer in the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at Columbia University Medical Center, New York City. She is affiliated with Lenox Hill and Roosevelt Hospitals.
Dr. Lucak is a member of several professional organizations including the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy among others.
Dr. Lucak has been selected among the top 5% of New York City physicians in Gastroenterology by her peers as listed in the Super Doctors section of The New York Times Magazine for. 2009 and 2010.
